“Flies and pink chicken. Reviews looked good and was excited to try the pork Ssam dish. Pork was tasty but way too much rice and too little pork. Fried chicken was average and the larger pieces were pink! Kimchi noodle salad tasted like instant noodles and half the bowl was salad. Flies were all over our food as well. I would come back and give this place a second shot but only order the pork and skip the rest of the menu.”
“Ssam jang is our favourite restaurant in Auckland. We came up for our 14th wedding anniversary (20 years together) and ate here each of the 3 nights we were here. We enjoyed past favourites and trying new things each night. Everything was delicious, but the 3rd and final night was the Pierre de resistance! The Haemul-Pajeon (seafood pancake) gets a special mention - we had it every night. My husband’s favourite was the ban …”
